VacaPlan
I worked with Noah Ahrens and Taewuk Kim to create a TUI that helps families plan trips collaboratively and easily. Each person created a fake persona (Dad, Mom, 16-year-old daughter) to gather research on what our TUI would need based on each person’s desires.
Then, each person created a journey map and video documenting the final TUI project. The final is a prototype of a TUI that could potentially be further developed.
PROCESS
Each group member first created a journey map documenting how the three personas would react to different steps of planning a trip. After narrowing down a list of planning stages, we collectively designed a storyboard and decided on the shapes/functions of our TUI. We agreed on a circular design as the shape is more user-friendly and inviting.
To demonstrate how the TUI works, we used Figma to frame each motion. Throughout the design process, our professor and classmates gave feedback on how we could create a smooth experience.
We each put together our own video that demonstrates the usefulness of our vacation planning device (VacaPlan). To document shots of the projects, we projected our animated Figma slides onto a table and set up three cameras to shoot from different angles.

MERCHANDISE
The TUI can come in a tote bag so users could carry the bag for travel purposes. Shirts and blankets could be sold to make traveling more comfortable.
